Information Management System (D1.1)

Task associate: Mr Andrew Chin, Great Barrier Reef Marine PArk Authority.

Information management is vital to ensuring that the outcomes of CRC Reef research is widely available to researchers, member organisations and the community. This project will coordinate information management across all levels of the CRC Reef, in close cooperation with the Communication and Extension project.

Initial stages of the project are:

• re-development of the CRC Reef website, so that it becomes a more effective tool for communicating research results to stakeholders, and
• development of a database of CRC Reef projects to track proposals, investigators, reports and project milestones.

Later stages of the project will include designing systems to allow web-based reporting, and increasing interactivity of the website, to provide a web "portal" system to make a wide range of information available to industry, management and community in an accessible and attractive format.
