Dr Peter Arnold from the Museum of Tropical Queensland is a co-investigator on the Seabed Biodiversity Project. He oversees the identification of various invertebrate groups, specialising in the bryozoan fauna, primarily from the sled samples. Over 150 genera have been recognised from the samples sorted so far. In addition to new records and range extensions, the samples contain taxa previously known from limited material, often collected over 100 years ago. The samples are providing new information about the distribution and habitat of species previously known from a single sampling location.
