Population biology and biogeography of Caribbean and Indo-Pacific reef fishes (C1.6)

Task leader: Prof Howard Choat, James Cook University.

Task associate: NA.

Objectives:

To analyse the ecological and evolutionary relationships of exploited fish stocks over large areas of the Indo-Pacific (including Australia) and the Caribbean, in particular:

(a) the analysis of abundance patterns, age structure, growth and mortality rates in selected species of exploited reef fish;

(b) the delineation of species boundaries and stock structure in widely distributed coral reef fishes; and

(c) a biogeographic and demographic comparison.
