Driving innovation in environmental performance in the Queensland fishing industry (B4.22)

Objectives:

To develop and implement two EMS Projects for industry participants
that will have utility for the fishing industry throughout Queensland.

To further refine the existing Green Chooser EMS methodology with
a focus on identifying and overcoming any impediments to on-round
implementation.

To improve awareness of the triple bottom line benefits of EMS amongst
both the seafood industry and broader community in the pilot regions.

To provide EMS project officers, industry champions and industry
participants with the necessary knowledge and skills to optimally
carry out their roles and responsibilities.

To establish a grass roots culture amongst pilot regions of continual
improvement in environmental performance, and to motivate the development
of an industry-driven framework to demonstrate ongoing improvements
in environmental performance post the life of the project.
