Career Development and Work Place Skills

CRC Reef offers students many opportunities for career development to enhance their chances of obtaining employment. CRC Reef students can participate in workshops such as 'Dealing with the Media' and 'Career Development and Leadership'.

CRC Reef offers many opportunities for students to become involved in the management side of CRC Reef. Student representatives are placed on several committees in CRC Reef so that they can gain an understanding of meeting and decision-making processes. Students have also planned researcher/stakeholder events such as the 'Bridging the Gap' workshop organised by students from the Effects of Line Fishing research project, which resulted in a CRC Reef Technical Report. These experiences enable students to become familiar with organisational skills needed to run successulf workshops and conferences.

Academic Training

CRC Reef assists students in acquiring academic skills necessary to complete their research degrees through sponsoring placements in courses such as 'Scientific Writing', 'Introduction to GIS', 'Writing Funding Proposals' and 'Time Management'.
