CRC Reef coordinates projects which deliver science, education and training
to tourism and fisheries industries, and coral reef managers. CRC Reef
is committed to excellence in research. It is a collaborative venture

The Association
of Marine Park Tourism Operators (AMPTO) represents
the interests of operators who provide tourism services throughout
the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park. AMPTO's members are responsible
for major investments in the industry and include operators involved
in day tours, extended cruising, diving, charters, aviation and
visits to resort islands.

The Australian Institute of Marine
Science (AIMS) is one of Australia's
key research agencies and the only one committed to marine research
which emphasises tropical marine science. The Institute's research
on the Great Barrier Reef provides crucial information for management
and ongoing ecological monitoring. AIMS is located at Cape Ferguson,
North Queensland and Dampier, Western Australia.

The Great Barrier Reef Marine
Park Authority (GBRMPA) is an Australian
Commonwealth Government agency which is responsible for the protection
and wise use of the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park. It manages
the world's largest multiple-use marine park system comprising
350,000km² of coral reef ecosystem.

Great Barrier Reef Research
Foundation seeks to conserve
and sustain coral reefs worldwide. It funds practical, outcome-driven
research conducted by the world's leading tropical marine scientists
and organisations in collaborative undertakings.

James Cook University (JCU) has established a national and international
reputation for teaching and research in applied science and engineering,
life in the tropics, marine science and technology. It is the only
university in the world close to two natural environmental sites
included on the World Heritage List: the Great Barrier Reef and
the Northern Wet Tropics.

Queensland Department of Primary Industries and Fisheries (DPI&F)
helps conserve and manage much of Queensland's natural resources.
DPIF provides leading-edge research and extension services to assist
the fishing, agriculture and forestry industries to become more
efficient producers and marketers of food and fibre.

Queensland Seafood Industry
Association Inc (QSIA) provides
industry leadership and quality representation on behalf of Queensland's
seafood industry. QSIA is the representative body for Queenslands
2,700 licensed commercial fishers.

SUNFISH Queensland Inc provides leadership for meaningful participation by recreational
fishers in the management of Queensland's fisheries resources,
improved recreational access to fishing grounds and responsible
fishing practices. SUNFISH also promotes recreational fishing as
a desirable activity which is economically, socially and culturally
important.
