Code of Practice for Dwarf Minke Whale - Human Interactions

Updated Code of Practice!

A ‘user-friendly’ version of the Code of Practice for dwarf minke whale - human interactions was reviewed by researchers, industry and managers at workshops held in Cairns in April and June 2002. Workshop discussions focused on ways to ensure and evaluate ecologically sustainable management of swim-with-dwarf minke whale activities. This included refining the Code of Practice and looking at ways to measure the effectiveness of management of the activities.

Workshop participants and interested parties are invited to comment further on the workshop issues paper (Adobe Acrobat File -126k) and the updated Code of Practice (Adobe Acrobat File -103k) for dwarf minke whale/human interactions.

You can enter your comments at the dwarf minke whale feedback site.

Tourism operators are also encouraged to display the summary Code of Practice (Adobe Acrobat File -80k).
