Terry Done BSc PhDDr Terry Done is a Senior Principal Research Scientist, Australian Institute of Marine Science (AIMS). He has worked in coral reef ecology since 1975 and joined AIMS in 1980, focusing on coral communities and their responses to disturbance, including both recovery to coral dominance and phase shifts. He has been an active participant in CRC Reef as Program Leader of the ‘Regional Environmental Status’ Program (1993-1998), ‘Information Systems and Synthesis’ (1999-present), and is now leader of the 'Reef Futures' Program. He is a past President of the International Society for Reef Studies, and a member of the International Union of Biological Sciences. Though the opportunities provided by AIMS, CRC Reef and ISRS, he is working to raise the level of understanding of coral reef ecology, and to have that understanding influence policies and management that will benefit both coral reefs and people who depend on them in some way.
